Do I need SSL if I don’t take payments?
Yes. Google Chrome marks non-HTTPS sites as "Not Secure" regardless of whether you take payments. SSL also improves your Google ranking, protects your visitors' passwords and form data, and is now expected by virtually every user.
Is SSL really free on hosting plans?
Yes — every Somclick hosting plan includes a free Domain Validated (DV) SSL certificate that is auto-installed and auto-renewed forever. You never need to lift a finger.
What is the difference between DV, OV and EV?
All three encrypt traffic equally. The difference is identity verification. DV only checks you control the domain. OV verifies your organisation is a real legal entity. EV applies the strictest vetting and displays your company name directly in some browsers' address bars — maximising visitor trust.
Can one certificate cover multiple domains?
Yes. A Wildcard SSL covers your root domain and all sub-domains (e.g. blog.yourdomain.com, shop.yourdomain.com). A Multi-Domain (SAN) certificate covers several completely different domain names. Both are available on our OV and EV plans — ask us for a custom quote.
Will you install it for me?
